Each team has six players per team. The lowest three scores of the team will determine the competitive team total. Those scores will be matched against the score from the team they are playing to determine the winner. In case of a tie, the fourth player’s score will determine the winner.
Here are some things that you can assist with:
1. Start on time – get players from your team together and ready to play
2. Pace of play – each group should play a hole in about ten minutes
3. Assist the “newer” golfers – follow the beginning players to help them with score keeping, pace of play, and answering any questions that may arise
4. Scorekeeping – Assist but do not keep the scorecards for the juniors. Making the juniors accountable for there opponents and there own score on the card is a key lesson to learn in golf.
5. Modified Double Par Rule – A player has 4 shots to get the ball on the green. If they have not reached the green by 4, they can pick up the ball and walk to the nearest point on the green and drop the ball. They will then have 4 putts to get the ball in the whole. The max score is 8.
6. Keep an open eye – watch for rules violations, poor etiquette, or miscounted scores (We do not want to be overbearing, but the rules & etiquette need to be enforced.)
7. Total scorecards – assist with adding the cards so the scores can get posted on the board as quickly as possible

10 Things to Know About
Par 3 League Golf:
1. Integrity and Honesty:
Play fair, all shots must be counted by each player.
2. Etiquette: respect
the course, other players, and all instructors.
3. Format: Play 9
holes each regular season week. The red tee markers will be set before each
event at Bur-Mil Park. Players at Ironplay should play from designated
areas in front of mats when weather permits. Play the Ball Down, meaning
only touch the ball once it is on the green.
4. Out of Bounds and Lost
Ball: At Bur- Mil, any ball that
finishes across the road is out of
bounds - there is a one shot penalty and the shot must be replayed
from the original place. At Iron
Play, if you hit your ball in the tall
grass and after 5 minutes you cannot find it, you must drop another ball
outside of the tall grass on the line your ball entered the tall grass and take
a 1 shot penalty stroke.
5. Caddies: are
permitted and encouraged to help facilitate the learning process.
6. Scorekeeping: Each
player will switch scorecards with another member of their playing group
and are responsible for that players
score and their own. At the completion of the round, players must sign both
scorecards to verify the accuracy.
7. Modified Double Par:
Max 8 shots per hole. 4 shots maximum to get on the green then 4 putts maximum
once on green – if 4th shot is not on green,
player must pick up his or her ball and put the ball on the closest
point of green from where the 4th shot was taken.
8. Team score: Low
three scores count to team total. In the case of a tie, the teams will use the fourth
lowest score on both teams to determine the winner. In the case of a tie
between seeds for the championship round, head to head records will determine
standings.
9. Finish the Hole: no
gimmies allowed.
10. Distinguished Players:
Triad Team Golf Championship Qualifiers include the Regular
Season & Tournament Champion of each league plus Top 10 individual players
not on these four teams. Individual Trophies are given to the Regular Season
Team Champion, Tournament Team Champion, Most Valuable Player (lowest scoring
average), Most Dedicated Player & Most Improved Player.
11. Scores and Results will be posted online at TYGF.ORG under the “playing section” and then under “Par 3 league.”
