The weather could not have been better for golf over the course of the tournament!  Temperatures today remained in the low 60s and the players enjoyed some blue skies and sunshine towards the conclusion of play.  We were very fortunate for such ideal conditions in late December.  This event is the first tournament that the PKBGT has played at Pine Needles since the passing of Mrs. Peggy Kirk Bell last month. We anticipated an exciting finish to the Tournament of Champions today and our players, and Mother Nature, did not disappoint us!  Persistent showers made for wet conditions for the players and ultimately forced a shortening of the event to 27 holes when the greens became unplayable.

At the end of 27 holes of play, Wake Forest, North Carolina junior Haeley Wotnosky ran away with the title with a commanding 9 shot victory.  Wotnosky (2018, Wake Forest, NC) shot a tournament record 4-under par 68 in round 1 and …
